Subject: Tigers in Malaysia Need Your Help
Dear friends and supporters of TigerAid,
TigerAid has issued a statement concerning reports from Malaysia about officials issuing shoot-to-kill orders of all wild tigers in the
northeastern part of the country. Please visit our website to view the entire statement. We have posted an online petition to be sent to the Minister of Science, Technology and Environment, you may find it at: http://www.ipetitions.com/campaigns/malaysian_tiger/
We need as many signatures as possible in the next few days. We are also seeking your financial support at this time, to assist with our
communications to Malaysia, our worldwide public awareness campaign, and for our Save Malaysia's Tiger fund. It is through you, the members of the Tiger Action Network, that we all can help avert a conservation tragedy.
I ask for your support. Sincerely,
Richard Birchard
Executive Director
TigerAid

Good morning:  First of all, your site is spectacular!!!  Good for you.  I found a  return false message on this page, thought you'd like to know.
http://ladywildlife.com/DinosaursExtinctAnimals.html   I'm looking forward to enjoying the rest of your site, but you're  prolific like me, so it might take me a while.  Have the best of weeks!

Thank you so much for the compliment..  I checked out  the page you
indicated and found some rather unusual script on the top of the page.  It
was removed..  The page loaded fine anyways.. I also updated the page links.

Subject: What can you tell me?

I was staying in Kailua and saw a ton of little Portuguese Man of Wars on the beach...having grown up in the Mediterranean I wasn't too concerned  especially since these were rather small...but now I'm wondering...are the  small ones as dangerous as the bigger ones?  Is Kailua a dangerous beach to  swim in?  I mean I saw a ton of them on the beach...where in O'Ahu is it the  best to swim and not be bothered by this dangerous possibility?  Just curious  and I hope to hear from you soon.
 Mahalo,  Rico Di Dario
-----------------
Thank you for your question.
The Man of War regardless of size can be very painful and dangerous if stung.  Even though they are smaller it is best to wait until their
migrating passes to swim.  As far as where to swim I can not help you there as I am not familiar with your area.  Sorry.

------------------
Hi there,

Star Fish like any other salt water fish carry the un pleasant odor of the sea.  They need to be dried for many months in the hot sun naturally or
cured with a type of salt to dry up the creatures bodily fluids.  If you were to ask a fish store that sells them they might have a book you can look at.  I am not sure of the procedure so I can not tell you how this is done, but I hope it helps you in your quest to at least find the knowledge.  (If you have a public aquarium there ask the people there also.)

Subject: Re: questions comments about wildlife
Hi, I raise quaker parrots. To me, they are domesticated. I am just trying  to find out how the rest of the world would place them under domestication,  instead of WILD birds.  Animal Rights activist, PETA, HSUS, etc. are working against us bird breeders and bird lovers. They say they are "Wild" and should be put back  into the wild.  I have mutations of quakers. They are definitely what I call domesticated, I am just looking for some facts and proof to this matter.  They consider chickens domesticated but fight to say birds are wild and should not be put into cages.  I know of no books to look for to help me with this issue, do you? Thank you, Carol Phillips

commentsquestions: Your site is very interesting. I have been studying on domestication of birds and parrots. Is there any resource I could see or how you studied on parrot domestication?  I appreciate you,Carol Phillips
----------------------
Hi there,   PETA and other people do have their points BUT so do you. When birds are stollen from their natural habitat then brought to the USA or other places are wild.  (All parrots and such were stolen from overseas in the beginning). But when they are tamed and then bred in captivity, they are considered domesticated. If the parents are left to raise them as captive breeding pairs then the babies are considered wild. Because they can be returned to the wild to replenish that bird species. The pages I have up tell you some, but their are at the local libraries
wonderful books.  Ask your librarian about it. Also you can contact zoos that have more than 30 birds and they can also tell you about it.  Also you might try people who raise them.

My Opinion:  Rare birds should be left alone, unless qualified people as in the process of raising them for  release like the California Condor. I have seen so many beautiful birds that are bred, hand raised by loving breeders or breeders that are in for just the money . Check this out. http://ladywildlife.com/animal/savetheparrot.htm
